A number of times during my career, which involved a great deal of travelling, I happened to be on the scene when a big case broke. Such a time was back in 1935 when I happened to be visiting a friend of mine name O W Wilson. Mr Wilson was Chief of Police at Wichita, Kansas, when he received a telephone call from a man called Frank Ardo who owns a meat packing plant just outside of town. He's received an extortion note, threatening to blow up the plant at 6pm tonight, unless he pays off.
