Barrie Craig is on vacation in Vermont, he’s actually gone to see an old friend Jake when he becomes involved in a murder investigation. Walking along a country lane Craig and Jake hear a scream but all they can see is a Hay cart – and a man wearing farmers’ overalls with a knife through his heart.
