Five years ago Danny Braden’s wife had been killed in a fire but it seems that she planned her death to get away from him. Now she was happily remarried. When Jack Bartell turned up at Danny’s house with the news and suggestion that he blackmail his ex-wife it seemed a good idea for a man who had never earned an honest buck in his life. Bartell had made Danny sign a contract stating he would give him half of what he made for the next 10 years. Danny tried to pull a fast one on Bartell. Meantime worried Danny’s current wife Thelma went to see J.K Malone. When Danny gets shot there is more than one suspect.
