Marlowe was on his way to his new client and an embezzlement case involving $60,000. His client has enough evidence to go to the police and have the culprit arrested, but he doesn't want the police involved. He has his reasons, some past and some present, but it is Marlowe's job to get to the bottom of the case and find out why the embezzler is committing this crime.
