This was the final episode of The Adventure Of Sam Spade interestingly entitled The Hail and Farewell Caper. A small spindly thin man had been trying to pluck up courage to talk to Sam Spade on a matter of life and death and took an overdose of sleeping tablets. Willie Johnson a hitchhike murderer was to enter the gas chamber tonight at midnight but the spindly man claimed he was innocent and had been framed and before slipping in to a coma declared that the killer was Hail and Farewell.
