Based on a real incident in  the war when a six foot three inch tall American Sergeant has to parachute from his plane in to German occupied Italy and is saved by a friendly Italian man who he nicknames Churchill.  

In this readers Digest story the American soldier tells how the little guy carried him, an injured staff sergeant, two miles on his back, sacrificed his sheep, gave him sanctuary in a cave and with his wife and son brought a little bit of America to him with a Christmas Party.
