A young girl has been stabbed to death after been brutally beaten and the police are unable to solve the case. Mr Wainard is a man with ambition. He has been prosecuting attorney now for six months but in the next six months he hopes to be mayor. He knows that the person who sees Anne Laurence’s killer hanged will be a hero and is determined it would be him.
