Nick Carter had put Nate Benedict in prison three years ago following a jewellery robbery and now he had escaped from the state penitentiary and Nick plans on seeing that he goes back there.

Nick and Patsy go to Nick’s office to check up on some things and when they get there they find the office in a mess, a dead man on the floor and the file on Benedict missing.
