Harry Pope was from Boston. His wife died and he wanted to move someplace else so he moved out to Dodge four months ago and now he tells Kitty that he is scared to death. He tells Marshall Matt Dillon that there are Indians scratching about outside his place. Matt thinks that is his imagination but if he is worried he ought to get a gun. Two days later Honeyman tells Matt that Harry Pope has killed his best worker, Joe Carter in cold blood.
