Joan Hayward is a waitress hoping to make it big as an actress but only bums that come in to the joint where she works and she is lucky to make $2 in tips. Then one day Jerome Tishman enters and likes her looks and tells her she should be on Broadway. He leaves her his business card and eventually she decides to quit her waitress job and look him up.
