When Gus is murder by his friend Schuster he doesn't know why. At first Gus doesn't even realise that he is dead. He sees that his girlfriend Ada is upset when she learns that he is dead and when he thinks that Schuster loves Ada he doesn't care that Schuster murdered him he just wants to stick around and help Schuster win enough money to make Ada happy. Gus wants to be a good ghost.
