United States Marshall Matt Dillon and Chester had ridden 2 days South for Dane Shaw who had a warrant out on him. Shaw used to ride with Billy the Kid but quit the gang two years ago but there are fears that he may make up his own gang and ride again. When Dillon arrives in Atascosa the place, which was renowned as a place for cattle thieves looking for a place to spend their money, seemed a lot more respectable now.
