Harry Ferrell sat in his luxuriously furnished office and puffed slowly on a cigar. His eyes wandered over the room, the polished mahogany, the thick broadloom carpet, and the canvas on the wall opposite - all the trappings of success a reflection of his own profit. Harry Farrell had reached the top and partly thanks to a fortunate marriage. Ann’s money had been the original foundation now even though he had become one of the most successful attorneys in Phoenix he had little money of his own. Gambling debt, high personal expenses, bad speculations were a constant drain on his earnings. Yet as long as he Ann he felt secure for he knew he could always count on her to ease the financial strain.
