Adeline Fairchild the niece of Liela has arrived in Summerfield and is now living next door to Gildersleeve. Gildy has taken quite a shine to her and get’s Birdie to make some scrumptious goodies for him to take round to her. But then later he is worried that Miss Fairchild has plans to take Birdie away from their household and has terrible dreams about missing Birdie’s pot roast.
