Here we are in Wistful Vista, home of Fibber McGee and Molly, and their well known next door neighbor, Throgmorton P. Gildersleeve boss of the Gildersleeve Girdle Works. Our story begins when TP, as he is known to his associates, is going on a business trip. Whenever he goes away he gives all the employees an hour off work to wave him goodbye. The Great Gildersleeve is about to board the train that will take him to old radio stardom.
