Henry Hughes holds an important position in the Pittsburgh Bronze Casting Company, which is now doing war work exclusively. When Henry Hughes wife accuses him of coming in late every night and having an affair he explains that he is late every night doing secret business, which he cannot tell her about. He considers that she is too dangerous to have around with her jealous streak. Then Hughes kills his wife and makes it look as though she has driven her car while intoxicated off a mountain cliff.
