Richard Rogue was on his last dime when he received a visit from George Grant. Grant had proof that the Mathews Fur Company warehouse fire was arson and he was willing to tell Rogue for $1000. The insurance company had paid out a $160,000 and agreed to give Rogue $10,000 for a conviction. Rogue asked Grant to call back in an hour for the money but as he left the building he was shot dead leaving Rogue to uncover the truth alone.
