This is the story of one of the great old-timers of Minstrels a man who believed the Minstrels could never die his name was Sugarfoot Calhoun. The audience in his hometown loved his stage act but his son Joe believed the Minstrels were washed up and planned to quit the Minstrels. Sugarfoot decides to go into television however he has a heart attack just before the first show. Joe reluctantly agrees to take over and go on the show in his place.
