Slago and his gang were running a protection racket on gas stations and any station that didn’t want in would run in to trouble like the one that night that was blown up. Brit Reid wanted all the information he could on the gas station accident. He knew who was responsible but as there wasn’t any proof The Sentinel couldn't print it.
