This is the story of a good newspaperman Hildy Johnson who wanted quit the newspaper to get married and go to New York and of his tyrannical and resourceful managing editor Walter Burns who wanted him to stay being a newspaperman and cover the hanging of Earl Williams at Cook County Jail the following morning.
