The Lone Ranger and his Indian companion, Tonto, had ridden south for several days. They were on the trail outside of Stockton on the fourth day as the sun began to set, and they knew they'd need to find a suitable campsite for the night. They had come a long way trailing Sid Carey and his gang, but the Lone Ranger was confident they'd soon catch up to the man who was a menace to the territory...
