Pablo meets Fred Garth on his way to French Mans Ford after three years away. He left when he killed a man in a fair fight but the man had two brothers. When the express office is held up by a masked man and the teller killed Fred Garth is accused, tried and sentenced to death. Pablo doesn't believe that Fred is capable of killing a man nor does the girl he came back to marry. Dr Sixgun tries to help him but it seems he is on a death wish as he won't say anything to defend himself. Dr Sixgun is determined to find out why Fred seems happy to die.
