George Valentine is hired by a determined little spinster lady miss Felicity Graham to try and solve a murder mystery more than 15 years old. His specific assignment is to prove to his own satisfaction whether South American millionaire Juan Carlos is or is not James Cartwright, the same James Cartwright who presumably died in a suicide pact with Felicity’s cousin Laura.
