Professor Willoughby the voice teacher from New York City who is visiting Squire Skimp has the citizens of Pine Ridge enthused over the glamour of society. In a few short days he has transferred their interests from the horseshoe pitching and old-fashioned box suppers to contact bridge and afternoon teas and all the while Squire and Lum are busy selling stock in their new mining venture with the promise that they will all become millionaires.
