Amos Anders might have been called a financial pioneer. Up until the time of his death, he had encouraged and financed many new enterprises. Some had been successful, others had failed, but old Amos had a great deal of faith in the future, and this quality he had tried to pass along to his son, Jimmy. Jimmy's share of the Anders estate consisted of one thousand shares of stock in a new company his father had been helping to organize, plus the sum of five thousand dollars in cash.
