Paul Martin disappears from the roof of the knickerbocker building only to turn up dead in a ditch miles from where he vanished. Paul had attempted the disappearing stunt to test the love of his girlfriend Marge Stanton. But Gabo Conrad an underworld friend who had just finished a seven-year tem in prison learns of the stunt and kills Paul and then kills another accomplice, Marty Whitaker.
