Freeband had a successful business on account of his exclusive rights to the patents on a radio control device. Freeband's partner Edgar Porter, a young bachelor, invented the device and owns the patent. Porter took the cruiser out for a trip yesterday morning. Last evening Mr Freeband called him by radio to see how he was and from his last words spoken it sounded as though someone had murdered him even though he was all alone and there were no other boats around. The coastguard were out looking for him now. And Johnny Dollar was called in by the insurance company to investigate as there was a partnership policy between Edgar and Mr Freeband for $225,000.
