Some thirty years ago the Spanish Marquis offered the French general all that he possessed if they would spare his youngest son who was only eight years old. The general agreed to pass on the Marquis’s fortune and his youngest son’s life to any one of his three sons who would play executioner to the Marquis and the rest of his family.
