It is 10:30 on the morning of September 14th 1940. Ten miles outside the town of High Point in South West Texas a thin worn looking woman sits in the back room of a run down house. She is sewing a patch on a pair of child’s dungarees when she hears the front door open. It’s her husband Carl as his new job didn’t go too well when they found out he was an ex con. She becomes worried when he takes on a new job for a man and it involves a gun.
