Disregarding the warnings sent by Fu Manchu Dr Petrie joins Nayland Smith and inspector Weymouth in their efforts to save Birk New York ex detective from the coughing horror and the mysterious savage creature with abnormally long arms with which it strangles its victims. Despite their efforts Birk dies and the creature escaped. Back in their Baker Street quarters Nayland Smith and Dr Petrie are awaiting news from inspector Weymouth...
