In a desperate race with death, Smith and Petrie arrive at Sir Graham Guthrie's London hotel barely in time to warn him of his impending danger. Smith's warning is interrupted by the clock striking half past midnight, the time set by Fu Manchu for Sir Graham's death. In the distance there is a weird calling. Nayland Smith walks over to the window and opens it. As he does so, he utters a strange choking cry…
