The Lone Ranger and Tonto rode the trail toward Austin. The trail they were following was on a plateau that overlooked the plains. Suddenly, Tonto pointed to the plains below, at a stage coach whose horses appeared to be running wild. They could see that there was no driver on the stage coach, and quickly raced to try and intercept the runaway horses. They soon found the men who had been on the stage coach. One was dead, but the driver was still alive, and explained to the Lone Ranger that an outlaw gang had taken the gold from the stage coach. He had pulled the hood from one, and recognized the leader, which is why they had been shot. The Lone Ranger tried to get the man to share the name of the man they recognized, but he died before he could finish...
