Baseball comedy story about a guy called Elmer Kane (Bob Hope) and his boss at the grocery store, Nelly Poole, who employs Elmer as a delivery driver. It begins in the Kane house in Gentry Ville Indiana, where Elmer’s brother can’t understand why his brother won’t sign for the New York Giants. Even Nelly thinks he shouldn’t pass up the opportunity. But what she doesn’t know is that Elmer is crazy about her and doesn’t want to go away and leave her.
