So far, Lum and Abner have been unsuccessful in their attempts to restore Grandpappy Spears and rid him of his amnesia, and so the old fellow goes blissfully on, thinking he's a vacuum cleaner salesman from Toledo. As we look in on the little community today, we find that Lum has gone to the county seat to try to straighten out the affairs of their almost non-existent rubber corporation.
