Ken Carpenter opens the show by introducing the lovely American sweetheart and Mistress of Ceremonies, Dinah Shore. She's just arrived back from Paris, and has brought some gifts. She then sings I'll Walk Alone, a song which expresses pretty well how the servicemen's wives, girlfriends and sisters feel about all of them.
