Ken Carpenter opens the show, introducing tonight's Mistress of Ceremonies, the Tennessee Thrush, Miss Dinah Shore. She joins the show, performing the first song of the evening, This Is The Army Mr Jones. Other guests include western films actor Chill Wills, The singing quartet The Charioteers, Ann Miller and actress/opera singer Kathryn Grayson.
