While encamped near the mountain of sunrise Tarzan and his friends are captured by a band of Hessi Herians and proceed toward the forbidden city of Asher under their escort. Arriving at the foot of Tuembaka, Arkaru the leader of the Hessi Herians is rescued from the coils of a huge prehistoric python by Tarzan.
