Mr Tregenis lives with the vicar in the Cornish seaside village but that night he had been at his family’s home playing cards with his sister and two brothers. The following day Mr Tregenis found that his sister was stone dead in the card room where he had left them all the previous night and his two brothers were at her side laughing deliriously.
