John Perky was the town banker in a small community in western Canada. To his employees at the bank he was a strict master whose word was absolute law but at home the real head of the house was his sharp-tongued wife Abigail.

Abigail was surprised that her husband had not mentioned to Jim West, aka The Silver Eagle about Sam Bogart who may have killed a woman.
