After they were married all he said to his wife about what happened to him in the war was that he’d been wounded. What was really wrong with him was described as battle fatigue, like a nervous breakdown and he knew at the bottom of it was fear. The doctors said it was imaginary fear but he knew he had to get a grip on it before it got worse so he took a job away from everything with fresh air and exercise upstate. But his wife was not too happy…
