George Valentine drove to an isolated little town in the mother load only to find that they’ve rolled back the sidewalks for a centennial celebration. Before he knows it he’s not only charged $20 for not sporting a beard but he’s shot at. He goes to see his client Emily Wintrick who fears the man she has chosen to marry will be murdered by his brother but it’s the KG local sheriff who dies in stead by poison.
