Oliver had often thought of killing his lover Lucille when she was causing so much trouble and threatening to tell is wife. He’d dreamed of killing her and the dream was so vivid he thought it had actually happened and felt impelled to go back to the scene of the crime to convince him self that it wasn’t true. But why can’t a man be sure about that? It’s such an awful thing to do, to kill a human being. He didn’t feel any remorse, just hunger so he felt he couldn’t possibly have killed her.
