Jim and Fern are just being dropped off home after a meal out with the inspector when a fire engine goes blazing past and they decide to go and see what’s happening. It turns out that a tenement block owned by Roy Wade is on fire and it’s the third house owned by Wade to be burned down in the past few months. In two of those other fires a life was lost and the inspector is not so convinced it was an accident.
