Death Of Montezuma

It is the 30th June in the year 1520 and the Aztec priests are beating their giant assembly drum. It is summoning the emperor Montezuma and Prince Kwitlawa to their meeting in the square below us in front of the royal palace in Mexico City. General Hernán Cortés and his Spanish expedition are trapped in that palace where they hold Montezuma as hostage. The meeting between the Aztec emperor and Prince Kwitlawa who commands the besieging forces will determine whether Montezuma will order his warriors to lift the siege and let the Spaniards leave the city unharmed or to attack and destroy the Spanish invaders even if it costs Montezuma his life.
