When Miss Lilly Faltaine discovers the body of Donald Doors the critic dead in his apartment it is a case for Barton Drake. However she becomes a suspect herself when it appears that he has been killed in the same way that she dies in her play and after giving her a bad review in her opening appearance the previous night.
