Don Wilson opens the show, introducing the Mistress of Ceremonies, the lovely star of Universal Pictures, Deanna Durbin. Jack Benny thought that he was hosting this evening, so he's *apparently* in a bit of a sulk, and keeps interrupting Deanna's introductions of guests. The first is Martha Tilton, who joins the show and performs I'll Walk Alone.
