Luigi and everyone in his class are not thinking about their lesson tonight as they are all excited about the carnival which is coming on Sunday. The school has given them two tickets each and Luigi says he is not taking Rosa. His class friends try to encourage him to enlarge his circle of feminine contact and as he is going to the library after class they suggest he ask the librarian. Luigi genuinely hits it off with the librarian and invites her to the carnival on Sunday but of course his friend Pasquale assumes that Luigi is taking Rosa.
