The story opens in the living room of a pleasant home. Walt Marvin has just come in and is talking to his sister Molly. He wants her to lock the door, as the police are after him - it has even been in the papers! The police have been instructed to kill him on sight, and his sister isn't holding back in telling him what a waster he has been his whole life...
