Marshall Matt Dillon and his deputy Chester Proudfoot discover Joe Trimble driving old man Granby’s horses, though Trimble denies he is running them off Granby's land. However he has committed far worse and though Marshall Dillon is unable to get a conviction he warns Trimble that he will get his comeuppance.
