Ed Thorpe and his wife and their little baby have got spotted fever so the Doc wants Matt and Chester to go out to their ranch and bring them in to town to be treated. On their way there the meet a man, Nater, and his wife who had been at the Thorpe’s house that morning. Then Nater tells Matt that Ed Thorpe was dead and he wasn’t hanging around to catch the fever.
